Bilingual Intake Coordinator and Caseworker


 

Position Summary:


While following the mission, vision and core values of St. Francis Community Services, the Bilingual Intake Specialist and Service Coordinator (BISSC) engages with and provides linguistically and culturally sensitive intake and case coordination services to the immigrant community, with a special focus on the Spanish-speaking immigrant population.  The BISSC conducts phone and walk-in intakes to screen clients seeking services at the agency, making internal and external referrals as appropriate. The BISSC maintains a caseload of clients with predominantly acute presenting issues and assists these clients in navigating challenging systems and connecting with appropriate referrals.


 

Qualifications:


  • Education: Associates Degree (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited school or college preferred, preferably in the fields of social work, human services, or legal services. Training plus experience may be considered.
  • Bilingual (oral and written) Spanish required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of direct experience in social services or legal setting providing intake, case coordination, and/or support services to individuals and/or families.
  • Prior experience working with immigrants. Experience should include provision of services to the Spanish-speaking community.
  • Complete the following successfully:
    • Background check done through the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry screening (this screening will be done every other year on even years thereafter by agency while employed),
    • Current Tuberculin Screening (testing will be done annually thereafter by the agency while employed).
  • Strong knowledge of culturally appropriate interventions.
