Parish Social Ministry

What is Parish Social Ministry?

Parish Social Ministry educates parishioners about Catholic Social Teaching and engages them in the mission, structure and services of the Catholic Charities Federation.

Local CCHD Grant Applications are now being accepted.

In the Archdiocese of St. Louis, applications for local CCHD Grants are being accepted until Wednesday, April 4.  You can download an application here or request one by emailing Greg Rohde, Director of Parish Social Ministry for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.  Please direct any questions to Greg Rohde at 314.367.5500 x1155.

Local CCHD Grants are designed not for direct service, but for projects which eradicate a root cause of poverty.  Projects must also demonstrate their alignment with CCHD’s Basic Principles for Catholic Mission.

LENT 2012

Lent begins this year on February 22, Ash Wednesday,  a day of fasting and abstinence. On Ash Wednesday, the imposition of ashes replicates an ancient penitential practice and symbolizes our dependence on God's mercy and forgiveness.

Lent’s three traditional pillars are prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Catholic Charities of St. Louis has compiled a few Lenten Resources which can help with your spiritual growth during this Lenten Season.
