Governor Kehoe Sworn In and Legislature Commences Work
Governor Kehoe was sworn in this week on the front steps of the state Capitol as the 58th Governor of Missouri. In his inauguration speech, he said that his priorities would be fighting crime and public safety, educational choice, and reducing taxes. He said that he would “talk to anyone, work with anyone, and root for anyone who has a good idea to make our state safer, stronger, and better.” Kehoe grew up in St. Louis, is a practicing Catholic and a member of the Cathedral St. Joseph in Jefferson City. More information about Governor Kehoe can be found here.
The House and Senate spent their week introducing bills and making committee chair and member assignments. Hearings will begin next week. Legislator member information, bill text, hearings, and committee assignments can be found on the House and Senate websites. They are comprehensive and easy to navigate.
Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King Day and a legislative holiday. It will be cold the early part of the week, so stay safe and warm.
